| Ideneb 1.4 10.5.6 on Abit IP35-E |
|
I've recently tested the new Ideneb 10.5.6 upgrade, and I can tell you it was the fastest installation ever. My hardware is pretty much compatible: Abit IP35-E, Intel Q6600 Quad Core, ATI HD 3870, 4 GB RAM, WD SATA Raptor 150gb, and a Samsung Sata DVD-RW. The only hardware not working out of the box was the Sound which is an ALC888 and even that was easy to get working. For the initial setup erase the disk before installing the MacOS, with the Disk Utility. Customized drivers : AppleYukon2, AppleSMBIOS 1.0.13, ICH Fix, PowerOFF_OH ( OpenHaltRestart.kext, Fix by Pystar ) , HD3800 Series ( Device ID: 9501, 9505 ), idlehalt Fix Use Vanilla 9.6.0 which is the default kernel To get the ALC888 working get this file(download here). The file contains two needed kernel extensions ALCinject.kext and AppleHDA.kext. Just get those 2 extensions into /System/Library/Extensions/. Change the owner and permissions to root:wheel and 755 and remove the /System/Library/Extensions.mkext If you go to the System Preferences the Sound will be working fine, just choose the correct output… :) |
